NORTH OAKVILLE TODAY - It was a season debut to remember for the Oakville Buzz.
The Buzz kicked off the 2011 Junior B lacrosse season with a dominating 19-2 win over the Orillia Rama Kings last Saturday evening.
Sam Rook's Oakville squad scored seven times each of the first two periods and five more times in the third. They peppered beleagured Orillia keeper Brett Kloepfer with a staggering 93 shots on net during the contest.
Robert Bentivegna scored four times and added three assists for the Buzz. Joining him with seven points in the game were Jackson Hulbert and Keyan McQueen, who each scored two goals and assisted on five others.
Greg Campbell, Ryan Callahan and Braden Wallace all had six-point games, scoring two and setting up four others.
Spencer Gallant added two goals and two assists. Eric Wales netted two goals and an assist, Paul Rakoczy notched three helpers and Brett Ulbikas scored a single to count for the Buzz offense.
Netminder Ian Duffy was sharp when called on, making 25 stops on 27 shots against.
“It was a good start to the season and a great start for some of our young guys,” Buzz general manager Ken Gillies said.
